StartUp.connect is the startup network of the Wirtschaftsregion Ortenau (WRO), the regional economic development office; it was awarded Best Startup and Innovation Ecosystem 2018 by the State of Baden-Württemberg. StartUp.connect hosts the Black Forest Accelerator, a 4-6 month program which assists (aspiring) entrepreneurs in creating successful business plans and companies. Based at the Technology Park Offenburg, startUp.connect provides affordable office and co-working spaces for new businesses. It also provides access to a network of 170 local businesses and experts in the region. 

Startup.connect and denamics collaborate on supporting regional SME and startups in topics of digitization, R&D road mapping, and technical know-how. denamics provides coaching services for the startups in the Black Forest Accelerator. 


Alaska Center for Energy and Power (ACEP) is a leader in applied energy research regarding optimal energy solutions for islanded microgrids in remote Alaska and elsewhere. They focus on integration of  solutions for renewable energies in islanded electric grids while taking into account socio-economic realities, cultural considerations, cross-discipline collaboration and availability of facilities and resources. Projects range from power generation and transmission to heating and even fuel transportation. ACEP has a wide network of partners at local, state, national, and international levels. ACEP provides objective and reliable consultation to decision makers on energy technologies. They develop and research energy solutions for various markets. And they involve, teach and train students in real-world projects instilling in them tangible technical skills.

ACEP and denamics collaborate on the development of software tools for islanded microgrid modeling, analysis and research of integration of energy storage and renewables into islanded microgrids, and specification development for microgrid components. 

Center for the Arctic Policy Studies (CAPS) is a part of the International Arctic Research Center (IARC) at the University of Alaska Fairbanks focused on providing Arctic expertise to policy/decision makers nationally and internationally. Main policy areas are: indigenous interests, environmental protection, national security, and responsible economic development. CAPS has an excellent connection with local and rural communities in Alaska as well as a global network which it uses to facilitate exchange and collaboration between special interest groups and policy makers. CAPS integrates new and historical problem-solving approaches using evidence-based practices for Alaska and the Arctic.

CAPS and IARC are strategic partners in the development of the AI-driven scenarios development tool ScenLab, and collaborators in development of training programs for future studies, and the development of Arctic Futures worth living. 

Adaptive Balancing Power is a progressive energy storage company focusing on adaptive flywheel technology and the integration of traditional and renewable energy resources. They consult on microgrid technologies, market analysis and strategies, and offer technological assessments. Adaptive aides in prototype development for hardware ranging from complex mechatronic systems to highly specialized components. They also work with customers to simulate plant operations and program controller-based automation solutions. 

Adaptive and denamics work together on technology reviews in the energy space and support each other through cross-consulting on each others technical questions.
